The Village
Alexandros is one of the oldest villages of Lefkada and until the 70s it was a fully habitable village. Its inhabitants were engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. However, at the beginning of the 1970s, almost all the inhabitants of the village moved to the coastal tourist settlement of Nikiana.
Alexandros is one of the few villages that have preserved their original character. It is classified as a traditional settlement. All the houses are built traditionally with stone walls and wood, which creates an environment of harmony with the green natural environment.
You can eat or do your shopping at the nearby beautiful villages. The nearest tavern is about a kilometer away and is easily accessible on foot.
The time it will take for the visitor to reach the beaches of the West Coast is approximately 20 minutes (15 kilometers). Additionally, our village is located 5 kilometers from the seaside village of Nikiana and 15 kilometers from the city of Lefkada.
Around The Village
The monastery of Agios Georgios (founded in 1611) with an important history is located in a wonderful place with an excellent view of the mountainous Lefkada. On the way to Nikiana you can find the monastery of Agios Ioannis, in the meadow of Karya, and the hermitage of the Holy Fathers.
Lastly, there is a huge variety of trails and excellent mountain routes, making the area a great destination for those who love hiking. Perhaps the top route is the climb to the mountain of Skaros with the oak forest and the breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea.
